GENERAL SHOW INFORMATION

  • Both the National Specialty on Saturday and the Western Regional Specialty on Friday are Designated Specialties in conjunction with the respective clubs

  • Onofrio is the Show Superintendent

  • We will have an oversized ring in the Exhibition Building with Giant Schnauzer grooming adjacent to the ring all 4 days for both

  • Open Black and Pepper/Salt Classes to be offered all 4 days

  • Junior Showmanship will be offered

  • Veterans Dog & Bitch, Stud Dog & Brood Bitch, Veterans Obedience & Obedience Brace will be offered on Friday and Saturday at both Specialties

  • Parade of Title Holders will be offered on Saturday for the National Specialty

  • Obedience and Rally are offered Friday-Sunday

  • Evergreen of Colorado KC is offering two Special Attractions

    • Best of the Best in Specialties Competition- BISS winners of each of the Specialties and Group Shows held over the 4 shows will compete

    • Best of the Best (and Reserve Best) Junior Handling Competition- Best Junior in each of the Competitions compete

  • Possibility of Lure Coursing GS participation with the Working Club on one day and Agility on Wednesday at another site. We will keep you updated.


GROOMING SPACE INFORMATION

  • A special grooming section and spaces for GSCA will be reserved adjacent to the ring in the Exhibition Building. To insure a space here you must reserve by May 31.

RV INFORMATION

  • RV sites with electric hookups are available on site on the west side of the Event Center and Exhibition Building, around the Oval and other.

  • Reservation information will be available later

  • A block of rooms is reserved under GSCA until September 5

GSCA ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

The Awards Banquet, Silent Auction and Live Auction will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 6 PM at Island Grove Regional Park in the Event Center, Conference Rooms B & C. Famous Dave’s BBQ will provide a catered BBQ dinner featuring green salad, St. Louis style spareribs, country roasted chicken, Texas beef brisket, corn muffins, dessert, iced tea & lemonade. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $35 purchased before September 3. On site purchase is $40 and is limited. Purchase by credit card may be made at the new GSCA Store. Or make checks to GSCA and mail to Helen Burton, 160 County Road 13, Gunnison CO 81230


TROPHY SPONSORSHIP/DONATIONS

  • Support the Specialty by sponsoring a class with your own personal dedication.  Sponsorship will guarantee the sponsor exclusive sponsorship of the class including a dedication of their choice.  All sponsorships will be commemorated with the dedication in the Show Catalog if received by August 5.

  • The goal of every specialty show committee is to put on the best event that they can and to make it memorable for the participants. Part of that is the logo that will represent the spirit of the specialty, part is made up of activities that all the participants will enjoy, and another part is the prizes that will be awarded during the conformation and performance competitions. Please help us make this 2019 Colorado National Specialty a show to remember and consider sponsoring a prize. Donations start as low as $25 and range upwards to $175. There are many options in between. We can only make this show happen with your financial help .I look forward to hearing from you! PARADE OF TITLE HOLDERS: The Parade will be offered at the National Specialty on September 7. Make sure to indicate on your Entry Form, Onofrio Dog Shows. You must provide us with the full name of your dog including all titles by August 5 to allow time to produce the rosette. E-mail this information to [email protected]

CGC & TRICK DOG

Tests will be offered Thursday, September 5 at 4 pm.  Please reserve a test spot by filling out the online form here. All tests are $25. Registration and payment on site at the info table near the Giant Schnauzer ring in the Exhibition Building 12-3 pm

JUDGES EDUCATION SEMINAR

Thursday, September 5, 2019. This seminar is open to those who are interested in judging the Giant Schnauzer and who are currently AKC licensed judges or who have applied to the AKC. The seminar will begin at 4:00 pm with a classroom portion and hands-on instruction.  Ringside mentoring will be available Friday and Saturday. Contact Steve Fox at [email protected] Cost $25.
